About Candace Delancy

With over ten years of experience in education - as a teacher, subject matter expert in curriculum, and coordinator of youth programming - Candace Delancy has dedicated her career to equipping young minds with the tools and resources needed to excel in life. She recently founded Book’nic, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization promoting reading and literacy education. Her vision is rooted in the belief that every child can be elevated to achieve their highest potential.

Candace holds a B.S. in Elementary Education with Reading, English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and Gifted endorsements from the University of Central Florida. She is a thought leader on youth literacy and is passionate about community-driven solutions that ensure that every child has access to the tools they need to succeed. As she embarks upon the role of Executive Director of The Black History Project, she is thrilled to support the growth of the organization and to impact more young leaders.

When she’s not leading these initiatives, Candace enjoys spending time with her son and family, performing, and finding great reads at independent bookstores.
