About Cheryl Roberts

Cheryl Roberts is the Small Business Development Supervisor for the Certification section of the Office of Economic and Small Business Development at Broward County and is responsible for the management and oversight of all certification activities for the agency.  Cheryl has held positions in the public, non-profit, and academic arenas over the course of her career, which has primarily focused on social justice, civil rights and civil liberties.  Cheryl has over a decade’s experience assisting local small, minority and women owned businesses gain contracting opportunities in both Broward County and with the Federal Government. Cheryl is an experienced public speaker and training professional. Ms. Roberts, a native of Washington, D.C., holds a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and an M.A. in African Diaspora Studies, both from the University of California, Berkeley.  Cheryl is a music lover and dabbles in songwriting and music production in her spare time.
