About Erica Rucker
In her 20 years as a Florida educator, Erica Rucker has been privileged to work with students and teachers in a variety of educational settings. She has worked as a classroom room teacher and served as a team leader for her social studies department. Currently, Erica teaches African American Studies, Personal Financial Literacy, and Civic Engagement through Service Learning to students in grades 9-12 in Broward County, Florida. Her goal is to create academically engaging learning experiences through an environment that fosters creativity, curiosity, and kindness. Committed to sharing her passion for activism and progress, she founded a nonprofit organization that aims to empower and equip youth with the tools and resources necessary to help them find their purpose. Her youth group, RISE, is a reflection of her commitment to education. Erica is a proud graduate of the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Secondary Social Sciences Teacher Education program.
